FASCA Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
Frequently asked questions and help
What is FASCA?
FASCA (Formosa Association of Student Cultural Ambassadors) is a key cultivation program launched by the Overseas Community Affairs Council (OCAC) in 2011 to strengthen connections with second and third-generation overseas compatriot youth.
Core Objectives and Training Content:
This program adopts a parallel approach of "learning" and "practice," with systematic training focusing on three main axes:
- Local Training
- Service in Connection with Expatriate or Mainstream Activities
- Return-to-Taiwan Training Activities
Through systematic training, the program aims to cultivate overseas youth's understanding of Taiwan and cultural identity, gather friendly energy, and transform them into future expatriate talents and "Overseas Community Affairs Diplomacy Vanguards" who promote Taiwan.
Achievements and Development:
As of 2024, FASCA has trained over 8,043 participants. The FASCA team is not only active in various expatriate and mainstream social activities, but participating students can also use this opportunity to expand their interpersonal networks, creating richer development opportunities for their future life planning.
Eligibility and Locations:
We welcome overseas compatriot youth aged 14 and above to join! If interested, please contact the nearest Overseas Community Culture Centers in 13 regions across the United States, Canada, and Australia (Washington D.C., Boston, New York, Chicago, Houston, Seattle, San Francisco Bay Area, Los Angeles, Orange County, Atlanta, Toronto, Sydney, Brisbane), or the Overseas Community Affairs Division of the Taipei Economic and Cultural Office in Vancouver.
What are the main functions of the "FASCA Cultivation Program Website"?
The FASCA Cultivation Program Website is an information platform established specifically for students and parents of global FASCA chapters. It mainly provides the following services:
- Event Inquiry: Allows students and parents to conveniently inquire about the latest cultivation program event information for each chapter.
- Online Registration: Provides online registration functions for students. Please note that students must first log in to the website before they can select and register for the activities they wish to attend.
- Share Event Feedback: After participating in an event, students need to log in to the website to fill out and submit their event feedback. Only after the consulting mentor reviews and approves it will the event be considered formally completed and hours awarded.
- Check Event Participation Hours: Students can log in at any time to view the awarded hours for individual activities, as well as their current cumulative total service hours.
